EDWARD L. HUDGINS, executive director of The Atlas Society and its Objectivist Center, is the publisher of The New Individualist. A prolific writer and speaker, Ed previously was director of regulatory studies at the Cato Institute and editor of its magazine, Regulation; a senior economist for the Joint Economic Committee of the U.S. Congress; and deputy director for economic policy studies at the Heritage Foundation. His frequent contributions to these pages include recent reflections on Ayn Rand’s intellectual influence (January-February), and an analysis of the Islamist war against freedom of speech (Winter).
ROBERT L. JONES is a freelance journalist whose encyclopedic knowledge of classic movies and classical music is exceeded only by his talent as professional photographer. Robert’s articles and photos have been featured in numerous publications, including past issues of TNI. As a policy writer for Rudy Giuliani’s 1993 mayoral campaign, he co-authored the candidate’s position paper on crime and law enforcement. He has published Web sites devoted to Sergei Rachmaninoff, Jean Sibelius, and currently, Eugene Ormandy (he is writing a biography of the great conductor). A proud, fifteen-year veteran of the U.S. Army, the multitalented Mr. Jones returns to our pages this month as TNI’s entertainment editor.
ANTHONY MIRVISH is a New York-born professional structural engineer currently working for Halcrow Yolles in Toronto, Canada. For the past 13 years he has worked in design and project engineering roles on a wide variety of structures, from one-story wood buildings to 60-story steel-and-concrete skyscrapers, both in North America and internationally. Anthony’s interests extend well beyond engineering, and he also holds a degree in political science. Apart from a letter to the editor in the Fall 2005 issue, his review in this month’s issue is his first piece for TNI.
